La Habra Heights – The League of Woman Voters of North Orange County will moderate a Candidates Forum for the three open seats on the Lowell Joint School District Board.  The two-hour forum will be held on Wednesday, October 13 at 7PM at Rancho Starbuck Intermediate School in the City of Whittier.  The public and news media are invited to attend.  Candidates will be asked questions submitted by the public in attendance.

Voters will also have a unique opportunity to watch the forum via a tape-delayed web cast.  The Forum will also be telecast on Time Warner Cable.  The Candidates Forum will be a first for the Lowell Joint School District and the only recorded event for a local school board election.

In order to encourage public attendance, the forum will not be aired live.  Scheduled airdates on Time Warner and webcast details will be announced in the coming days as well as at Wednesday’s Candidates Forum.  Possible topics to be addressed include issues such as board member “freebies”, teacher pay and school safety.
